Journey of Hope

This project is a striking example of how public art can inspire and uplift communities. Cecilia Lueza’s sculpture is more than an artistic centerpiece; it’s a beacon of hope and progress, symbolizing our collective aspiration for a future filled with equality and opportunity.

The woman in the sculpture gazes forward, chin high, eyes focused ahead on the future. Behind her, the golden sun rises…a new dawn is coming.

A public space has been created for the sculpture on the south side of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard Between the north and southbound lanes of Veronica S. Shoemaker Boulevard.

When people see Cecilia Lueza’s sculpture, the artist doesn’t want them to just appreciate her work. She wants them to see a better future — a future where equality and freedom are enjoyed by everyone.
