CRA approves DR. MLK area improvement matching grants

FORT MYERS, Fla. (March 25, 2026) – The Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) recently approved two Commercial Property Improvement Matching Grants for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., redevelopment area.

The first of the two MLK grants was awarded in the not-to-exceed amount of $48,074.54 for The Warehouse Fort Myers, Inc. located at 2633 Dr. MLK Blvd. The grant will be used for new signage and fencing, exterior patching and painting and exterior lighting and landscaping.

The second grant was awarded in the not-to-exceed amount of $34,505.83 for The Warehouse Fort Myers, Inc., property located at 2637 Dr. MLK Blvd. The funds will go towards new signage and fencing, exterior painting and patching, exterior lighting and landscaping and a new awning.

The CRA Commercial Property Improvement Grant Program is a matching grant for commercial property owners and businesses within Fort Myers redevelopment areas. The maximum potential grant available for a project in Tier I is 75 percent of the total eligible expenditure, with a maximum award of $50,000. The Fort Myers CRA has offered commercial preservation incentives/ grant programs since 2010 and grant awards are based on the availability of funds.
