TALLAHASSEE, FL – The Florida League of Cities, the united voice for Florida’s municipal governments, announced that City of Fort Myers CRA Board of Commissioners Vice-Chair Liston Bochette III was recently appointed to serve on the Florida League of Cities 2025-2026 the Development, Code Compliance, and Redevelopment Policy Committee, one of the League’s five Legislative Policy Committees.
Legislative Policy Committee chairs, vice chairs and members were appointed by Florida League of Cities President Holly D. Smith, Vice Mayor of Sanibel.
As a Legislative Policy Committee member, Bochette will help develop the League’s Legislative Platform, which details priority issues that are most likely to affect daily municipal governance and local decision-making during the upcoming legislative session, as well as help League staff understand the real-world implications of proposed legislation. Committee members are also asked to serve as advocates for local decision-making throughout the legislative process.
Liston “Lin” Bochette is a five-time Olympic athlete, internationally recognized artist, and civic leader who has served on the Fort Myers City Council since 2018, winning re-election in 2020 and 2024. Bochette has played a key role in Olympic affairs worldwide, including as a delegate to the White House and senior advisor to bid and host cities, managing large-scale budgets and infrastructure.
